Every location keeps its own country and time zone, so a course starting at 09:00 starts at 09:00 where it actually is, and an instructor who follows the season is scheduled across both without you running two systems. Who issues the IYT certification — you or us?
You do, through IYT, exactly as you do now. Nothing here touches your relationship with IYT or issues anything on their behalf. What Broad Reach issues is your school’s own certificate of completion — your branding, your instructor’s signature, logged to the student record and emailed when the course finishes. Useful when a student wants something in hand before the IYT paperwork catches up, particularly if they are flying home the next day.
Is the IYT syllabus pre-loaded?
Yes. Every IYT course is in the catalogue from day one: International Crew, International Flotilla Skipper, International Bareboat Skipper, International Yachtmaster, Master of Yachts, VHF SRC Radio and the Powerboat schemes. You can also add your own non-IYT courses.
Can we run more than one base, in different countries?
Yes. Each location carries its own country and time zone, so a course starting at 09:00 in Palma and one starting at 09:00 in Rodney Bay both start at 09:00 locally rather than one of them being wrong by five hours. Instructors, yachts and courses can belong to whichever base is running them. One thing to know up front: pricing is in a single currency across the school, so if you genuinely need to sell in euros at one base and dollars at another, say so early and we will tell you honestly where that leaves you.
Can students pay in different currencies?
Yes. Broad Reach is multi-currency, so schools operating across the Mediterranean, Caribbean or anywhere else can take payment in euros, dollars or sterling. Online payments via Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay), with deposits, balances and digital waivers wired up from day one.
What does it cost?
